ABOUT THE SHOP
Born on the boards. Evolved by the beach. House of Lucky is a local gem of a boutique that embraces seaside bohemian style in the quaint shore town of Lavallette, NJ. With a carefully curated selection of styles ranging from women’s apparel, jewelry, & accessories alongside home wares and even gifts for little ones, House of Lucky has become a beautiful merging of Jersey Shore vibes & West Coast style.
It all began in 2005 when owner Patty Sabey opened her first venture on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk, aptly named Lucky Lady. The boutique quickly turned into a cult favorite, and was a mellow oasis between the arcades & midway games. But after Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012, it was time to dive into something she had been promising customers for years: an online shop. With that, houseoflucky.com was born. By 2014, House of Lucky had a fresh brick & mortar storefront not far down the road from its beginnings. And it hasn’t stopped growing; between adding creative workshops & events in its studio space and a stronger focus on e-commerce, the shop is a year-round destination for visitors and locals alike.
MEET PATTY
Patty Sabey will always be a “carnie” at heart. Growing up at the Jersey Shore, she spent her summers on the boardwalk at her family’s amusement business, Lucky Leo’s. But after attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, Patty yearned to breathe some life into the fashion scene of the seaside resort town where she grew up, which sparked an idea that landed her dream job.
She now successfully juggles her positions as business owner, lead stylist, & “fearless leader” alongside her most favorite job: raising her two little ones, Penny and Kurt. Her nurturing spirit blends naturally with her fierce love of good design & creating beauty in the every day, and she’s thrilled to be able to share that passion with her loyal customers. Patty currently lives by the beach with Penny, Kurt, and her husband, Kris, and considers herself the luckiest girl in the world.
